Miroslav Vrzala Resident Artist

Miroslav Vrzala, born in Czechoslovakia in 1960, immigrated to the United States in 1970. His passion for drawing and painting developed early, encouraged by his parents who gave him pastels and oil paints. During school, Miroslav worked in a department store that sold camera equipment, which sparked a keen interest in photography. Over time, his creative pursuits took a backseat as other interests emerged, but in 2009, his passion for photography was reignited, and he has not put his camera down since.

For the past 15 years, Miroslav has been active in photography clubs, entering both local and international exhibitions. His work has been published and has earned numerous awards, now part of private collections across North and South America, Europe, and Africa. Miroslav remains amazed by technological advancements that allow him to capture, process, print, and even frame his images all within a few hours. He hopes his work continues to evolve and gain recognition worldwide. Today, he paints with his camera instead of pastels, oil paints, or watercolors.

His guiding philosophy: “Look ahead, look up, look down, look left, look right, and don’t forget to look behind—there is always something to photograph.”
